Claim Your Space is a service and campaign developed to increase awareness and participation in Creative Shift, a program supporting underrepresented students in the creative industry. The project addressed low visibility caused by dispersed campuses and limited communication channels.
Creative Shift offered valuable opportunities, but many students were unaware of it or did not know how to engage. The program lacked a clear and accessible presence across physical and digital touchpoints.
As part of the team, I contributed to user research through interviews and surveys with students. This helped identify awareness gaps, engagement barriers, and the need for clearer communication and accessible entry points.
Research process and user journey
Claim Your Space was developed as a multi-channel outreach campaign combining digital platforms, physical activations, and institutional presence to increase visibility and student participation.
A central component was launching a dedicated Instagram account to share reels, event announcements, and student work, creating an accessible and ongoing communication channel for the community.
To expand reach beyond the university, the campaign used LinkedIn ambassadors who promoted Claim Your Space through profile banners and posts, helping position the program within professional and creative networks.
A physical activation was developed through a mobile gallery van equipped with LED mesh screens displaying student artwork. The van visited multiple UAL campuses and hosted pop-up events where students, influencers, and industry professionals could connect directly.
Campaign merchandise, including branded tote bags featuring the Claim Your Space slogan, supported visibility and reinforced the campaign identity across campuses.
The campaign increased visibility and awareness of Creative Shift by establishing clear digital and physical entry points for student engagement. The Instagram account, LinkedIn ambassador outreach, website page, and mobile gallery van created multiple access points for students to discover the program and participate.
The project demonstrated how coordinated digital platforms and physical activations can strengthen community presence, improve accessibility, and support ongoing student engagement.
